I grew up on a small farm in rural Wisconsin where I learned to love hunting and fishing. Fishing became a passion and as I grew older, I searched for a better and faster way for cleaning fish - because catching fish is fun, cleaning fish can be a chore, but if you can make that chore easy, the whole process of fishing can be a fabulous experience.

When I was a young adult, my brother and I went fishing before work one day. We were working second shift at a steel yard and brought our fish to work to clean during break time. We couldn’t find anything to clean the fish on, not a good board or a piece of plywood. I went into the janitor's closet and found some plastic grading with some squares in it. I didn’t think it would work very well but I took it out back and put it on top of a 50-gallon drum to clean the fish and it was one of the best things I've ever cleaned fish on. The slime fell right through the holes. So after making a couple of prototypes for ourselves and with friends begging for one too, we decided we would like to share this with everybody so we created the Fillet King Fillet Board! Our American Made fillet board is made by fishermen, for fishermen.
